Aubrey Rike, JFK assassination material witness, shares some of the raw &
tender aspects of his recollections of the events he took part in Trauma Room 1
at Parkland Hospital. An O'Neal Funeral Home & Ambulance Service employee in
1963, he was at large in downtown Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963. he collected an
alleged 'epileptic' at Dealy Plaza only minutes before the motorcade would
arrive there. They delivered the man to Parkland Hospital where the President
would also be admitted within the next several minutes. Once at the hospital,
the 'epileptic' got up & disappeared without being officially admitted. Aubrey
was in the emergency area & watched as the remnants of the Presidential
Motorcade arrived & the wounded Governor Connally & President Kennedy were
brought in for treatment. After the President's death he assisted Mrs. Kennedy
with placing her wedding ring on the President's finger & with casketing the
president by lifting the head and shoulders. (background: Projected image of

Berry Club Revamps Berry Park
And Hosts Free Strawberry Shortcake Sunday
The Rotary Club of Abbotsford Sumas is known for its annual strawberry
fundraiser. In the past six years sales have gone from $6,000 to over $120,000
providing the club with enough profit to make a substantial difference in the
community of Abbotsford. At the 2003-2004 club strategic planning session,
members decided to dedicate funds to updating parks in Abbotsford, with an
emphasis on playground equipment for children 2 to 5, over the next three years.
In April Club members got down and dirty spending a day removing the old
playground equipment at Berry Park on Mackenzie Road. Members then spent
another day installing the brand new $12,000 playground equipment. Abbotsford
Parks and Recreation is currently doing over $2,000 of tree and grounds
maintenance. The Club wishes to express its gratitude to the many
organizations, businesses and individuals who provided necessary supports to
enable the completion of this project.
The Abbotsford Early Childhood Committee through its Understanding the Early
Years Research Project provided valuable socio economic information which
guided the club in its choice of location. Parks and Recreation provided a
current listing of existing parks maintenance requirements which further
assisted in the selection of a park. Dave Holmberg Sr and Shawn Thorogood of
Bobcat Country generously donated their time, muscles, and the use of equipment
for both the tear down and installation. Remple Concrete came through with the
required concrete for the installation. It is heart warming to know that
people care and are willing to assist when it comes to children.
On Saturday June 27th, from 1 to 3, the Club hosted a neighbourhood Strawberry
Shortcake Day to celebrate the revamped Berry Park.
